Though not required, if you are a beginner, we recommend taking the “Getting Started on the Acoustic Guitar” and “Getting Started with Power Chords” courses before taking this one.
Are you a beginning guitar player and want to create a nice foundation for your guitar playing? Then this is the course for you. We will learn some foundational chords C, G, D, E and A, along with various basic strumming techniques to help you learn to keep time. Finally we will learn some basic techniques to open up our chords to make them more musical.
Welcome to the musendo acoustic guitar series. We use a simple but effective process by which you will learn a technique, then we will practice it along with you to building a strong foundation. Finally we will give you opportunities to play along with real music so you can show off your new skills!
All of the teaching material for our lessons was created by leading music pedagogues based off of curriculum used by the Sibelius Academy and other Finnish university music programs.
By the end of this course and with lots of practice, you should have a strong foundational set of chords along some basic strumming techniques. You will also learn some very easy ways to make your chords more musical.
